To be honest. I like the new one a lot more. Don't get me wrong, both are great! But I appreciate the style of the newer one. So much more original. Maybe it's because im not a big fan of the anime style? I feel like almost anyone can do it...I've talked to a lot of professional artist and they all said the same thing "stay away from anime. it's the easiest" The style in the newer one is beautiful. I love the figure of the face and the eyes are so well drawn as well! I think you've improved a lot and are great!
I'm sorry to reply to this comment, I know it's a month old but just wanted to say this: I have absolutely no problem for you or anybody not liking a style, the problem is because you don't like such style you can say "it's easy". Anime "style" is not easy, neither cartoon style or american comic style. Just ask a person who have been drawing american comic style all their life to draw an anime picture, and that person will likely draw a Japanese girl with a sailor uniform and big eyes, because said professionals cannot see beyond that overused stereotype. I'm sure that you have seen here on dA some awesome pictures with anime influences, will you say to those artists that spent hours, probably days on those pictures, that was easy to make just because it's "anime style"? We shouldn't applaud the style, but the effort and knowledge put in the image. I can respect a person who has worked hard in developing a style whichever he or she decided to follow, but not bashing other styles because their ego tell them they are easy to do. I apologize if my comment was rude, it was not my intention. BTW, I too agree that the second picture looks better than the first
I think you misunderstood what I was saying. and Perhaps my wording was off. I do think there are many anime artist who are very talented, I even have high respect for many anime/manga artist. I personally find anime very easy to draw for myself, and other artist have agreed to me,including professionals. However of course practice makes improvement, no matter the style. I didn't say I hate the style, in fact I don't dislike it. I'm simply not the biggest fan of the style and prefer other styles over it. I even draw anime once in awhile and have a manga series I plan to work with. I just prefer other styles over it. It's not a bad style. And it's not exactly easy, but in MY opinion it is the easiest for ME to draw and others have agreed.
Then I misunderstood what you were trying to say and I'm sorry for that. For me, anime style is easy because I'm used to it, but if I had drawn comic style or cartoon all my life then the same would apply to those. That's what I wanted to say
I think it's amazing how you found your own style and a really confident line on the way. I love how much you've improved - and don't mind the people who say they like the old one better, it's just a different style and animoo is still very much liked. But I personally fell off it a long time ago, because it just grew boring with thousands of people suddenly drawing exactly the same. I appreciate personality in drawing much more.
I don't see why it is you felt the need to tell them this? They've already gotten a bunch of comments from people who think artists should change their style based on what others want. The new style is much more proportionate and overall VERY improved. There's a difference between strange proportions and just plain impossible. If you really don't like more accurate art, go find someone who draws the way you like it because they want to.
